What Equal House Pro includes

The Free plan

Free is a real plan, not a trial. The Fairness Engine, tasks and chores, the shared calendar, meal plans, Kid Zone, pocket money, routines, wellbeing and gratitude are all included, for as long as you like — and so is Bric, cheering when jobs get done.

The main limit is how far ahead you can plan: three days. The AI features you can use on Free, such as Magic Add, also come with a small monthly allowance — see AI allowances below. Everything else works.

What Pro adds

• Linking other households and planning with them
• Calendar Sync — bringing in the calendar you already keep
• Email forwarding, its suggestions waiting in Waiting for You
• Renewals — keeping track of car insurance, the MOT and passports
• Speak it in Magic Add — saying it instead of typing it
• The school run and term dates, in practice, because a school is set up with its school year

AI allowances

Each AI feature has a monthly allowance for the whole household, so that one household cannot use up the service for everyone. They reset on the 1st of each month. When you reach one, the app says so and when it comes back — except in three places, where nothing tells you: gift ideas then come from our own list, Safe Space uses its standard talking points, and a forwarded email over the allowance isn’t read. Everything else carries on as normal.

A meal plan without a note doesn’t count: only the AI reading your note does. Starting the same feature more than six times in a minute is refused (forwarded emails aside), so wait a minute and try again. Very occasionally a household’s AI use reaches an overall monthly cost limit before any one count does; the AI features then rest until the 1st, and everything else works as normal.

What it costs

£2.99 a month, or £29.90 a year. The yearly price is two months cheaper.

There is no automatic free trial. We would rather have a Free plan that is genuinely usable for ever than a countdown that turns into a bill. So take as long as you like on Free, and upgrade when the three-day limit starts getting in your way.

The Pro screen confirms it in a few words — Payment complete., Code accepted. or Purchases restored. — and once you are back on one of the main tabs, Bric says Pro is on, on the phone you upgraded from. Everyone else in the family simply finds Pro unlocked.

Cancelling

Cancel with whoever you took the subscription out with, which depends on where you bought it, not on which phone you are holding now:

• In the app on an iPhone or iPad — through the App Store, in your Apple subscriptions. Apple bills it, so only Apple can stop it.
• In the app on Android, or on our website — through the Stripe billing portal. Buying Pro on Android opens the same Stripe checkout the website uses, so there is no Google Play subscription to find.

Either way, More → Equal House Pro has a Manage subscription button that takes you to the right place: Apple’s subscriptions on an iPhone or iPad, the Stripe portal everywhere else.

Cancelling stops the renewal — you keep Pro until the period you have paid for runs out, and then the household returns to Free with its data intact.

One subscription per household

Pro applies to the household, not the person. One adult subscribing covers everybody in the family.
