Equal House can be connected to outside tools that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can ask about your household from wherever you already are.
You set it up in the assistant, not in Equal House: add a custom connector with the address https://mcp.equal.house/mcp, then sign in with your Equal House account when it asks. There are no tokens to copy and nothing to install. The connector page has the details, and connect Equal House to Claude walks through it step by step.
What a connected tool can do
Read your household’s events, tasks, members, fairness picture, meal plans and house notes, and make changes when you ask: add an event or a task, tick one off, reassign it, move an event, say thanks, or add a house note. The connector tells your assistant to check with you before it changes anything, because other people rely on the family calendar.
Approving first
If you would rather see a change before it happens, ask the assistant to suggest it instead. A suggestion lands in Waiting for You, under More, like Bric’s (and from version 1.16.0 of the app on Bric’s page too), and nothing changes until a grown-up approves it. A suggestion nobody answers within 7 days expires, and nothing changes.
What it cannot do
Move money or pay out pocket money, open your stored documents, read Safe Space, act as a child, or write into another family’s calendar.
Access is yours to revoke
Remove the connector in your assistant’s settings and it is cut off at once. There is nothing to tidy up in Equal House afterwards.
Whose rules apply
A connected assistant is another company’s product, not part of Equal House. What it reads from your household, it processes under its own terms and privacy policy, wherever that company operates — not on Amazon Bedrock in the UK and the EU, where Equal House’s own AI features run. Pro, and one household
The connector needs an active Pro subscription. If Pro lapses the connection pauses, and it starts working again when you resubscribe. It works with the household of the account you signed in with, and never reaches anyone else’s.
