Equal House for your AI assistant

What it can do

Once connected, your assistant works with your own household’s data in two ways: reading it to answer questions, and — only when you ask, and always with your confirmation — making changes.

Ask questions about your household

• See your agenda — events, dated tasks, school days and holidays between any two dates.
• Check how busy a day is — a per-day view of the load, flagging days that look overloaded.
• List tasks — everything on the household’s list, optionally filtered by status.
• Check the Fairness Score — your 0–100 score and how the load is split between members.
• Look back on the week — what got done, and who carried what.
• Ask how to make it fairer — a preview of which chores could move, and what that would do to your score. Nothing changes until you say so.
• Ask what’s for dinner — tonight’s meal, who’s cooking, and the shopping list for the week’s meals, grouped by aisle.
• See who’s away, your house notes, and which documents are expiring.
• See who’s in the household, your linked connections, and your meal plans.

Ask it to make changes

• Create an event on the family calendar, including recurring events.
• Create a task, including recurring chores, and assign it to a member.
• Complete a task and credit the right person — or reopen one that was ticked off by mistake.
• Reassign a task to a different member.
• Reschedule an event to a new date or time.
• Say thanks to someone for a chore — it appears on your family’s gratitude feed, and on a child’s own screen.
• Add a house note everyone can read.

Every change is made on your behalf. Your assistant asks you to confirm before it creates, completes, reassigns or reschedules anything.

Prefer to approve first?

Your assistant can also suggest a task or event instead of adding it directly. A suggestion waits in Equal House until a grown-up approves it in the app — only then is the real task or event created. It’s the human-in-the-loop way to let an assistant help without ever changing the family calendar on its own.

How to connect

You’ll need an Equal House account with an active Pro subscription. Connecting takes about a minute — there are no tokens to copy and nothing to install:

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector.
3. Paste the connector address: https://mcp.equal.house/mcp
4. Sign in with your Equal House account when prompted.

You sign in through Equal House’s secure login, and your assistant is connected to your household. If your Pro subscription lapses, the connection pauses automatically and resumes as soon as you resubscribe.

What it can access

When connected, the assistant can read and act on your own household’s data only: household members (including children’s display names, and age band where set), events and agenda, tasks and their assignments, the Fairness Score, day-load and week-in-review, connected households, meal plans and shopping lists, away dates, house notes, thank-you messages, and the names and expiry dates of documents you’ve stored. Because household members can include children, member names and the family schedule are among the data your assistant can see.

Some things are deliberately kept out of reach. Your assistant cannot move money or pay out pocket money, open your stored documents, read Safe Space entries, act as a child, or write into another family’s calendar.

Security

• Sign in with OAuth — you authenticate through Equal House’s secure login; your password is never shared with the assistant or stored by the connector.
• Scoped to your household — the connector can only ever reach data for the account you sign in with.
• You’re always asked before changes — creating, completing, reassigning or rescheduling prompts you first.
• Revoke anytime — remove the connector in your assistant’s settings to disconnect immediately.
• Pro-gated — access requires an active Equal House Pro subscription.
