Set up the school run

The school run is the most repetitive piece of household logistics there is, and the one most likely to have silently become one person’s responsibility.

2. Tap Add school: the school, which children go, its days, the school year, and the drop-off and pick-up times.

Each drop-off and pick-up then appears in the family calendar like anything else, for the rest of the school year.

A school is set up with its school year, which runs for months, and the Free plan plans three days ahead. So setting a school up, or changing it, needs Equal House Pro.

Splitting it

Tap a day’s drop-off or pick-up on the calendar, choose Edit just this day, and tap the face of whoever is doing it. Seeing “Mondays and Wednesdays” next to a name is usually what makes an uneven rota discussable — before that it is just a feeling.

Changing one day

Edit just this day changes a single day without disturbing the pattern, for the week somebody has an early meeting.

It is calendar work, not chore work

School runs show in the calendar and in your time breakdown, so the hours are visible. Driving is real work and a household that counts it usually finds the split is not what it assumed.
