The school run is the most repetitive piece of household logistics there is, and the one most likely to have silently become one person’s responsibility.

It then appears in the family calendar like anything else.
Splitting it
Set different people on different days. Seeing “Mondays and Wednesdays” written next to a name is usually what makes an uneven rota discussable — before that it is just a feeling.
Changing one day
A single day can be changed without disturbing the pattern, for the week somebody has an early meeting.
It is calendar work, not chore work
School runs show in the calendar and in your time breakdown, so the hours are visible. Driving is real work and a household that counts it usually finds the split is not what it assumed.
