One screen for you — who you are in this household, how much of it you are carrying, and the controls that belong to your login rather than to the family.

Nothing on this screen needs Equal House Pro. All of it works on the free plan.

Change your name

1. More → Your account.
2. Tap Your name, in the card at the top of the screen.
3. Type the name you want and save.

Your name is how you appear to everyone in the family — on the fairness dial, on every task, on the calendar, in Kid Mode. Change it and all of that updates at once, on everybody’s phone.

Changing someone else’s name

Further down the same screen is the people list. Tap the pencil on a person’s row — or the row itself — to change their name: the way to fix a typo in a child’s name, or a partner who was added as “Mum” and would rather be “Sarah”.

That is owner and admin only. Everyone else can change their own name and nobody else’s, so on an ordinary adult’s phone the pencil simply is not there on other people’s rows. Your own row in that list works for anyone, and does exactly what the Your name row does.

Two things that do not change with it

Notes and documents you have already added keep the name they were signed with. A house note written by “Mum” still says “Mum” after you become “Sarah”. This is deliberate: those lines record who said a thing at the time, not who that person is called today. Rewriting them would quietly change the history of the household. Anything you write from now on carries the new name.

Your sign-in email is not affected, and cannot be changed here. It is what your login is, so it stays exactly as it was — changing your name does not change the address you sign in with, does not send anyone an email, and does not sign you out on any device.

What else is on this screen

Your share. The percentage of the household’s effort that is yours over the last 7 days, and the effort points behind it. It is a rolling seven days rather than “this week so far”, so a Monday morning reading still looks back into last week. See what the fairness score means for how effort is worked out.

What is on your list. The work with your name on it, so you can see what you have actually taken on without hunting through the calendar.

Your plan. Whether this household is on free or on Pro, and the way through to Equal House Pro if you want it. It does not show a renewal or next-billing date — those live with whoever you took the subscription out with: the App Store if you subscribed in the app on an iPhone or iPad, or Stripe if you subscribed on Android or on the website. Your family name and the kids’ code. The household’s name, and the six pictures your children tap to sign in. Any grown-up can change the picture code; renaming the family is owner and admin only. How children sign in explains the code.

Devices. Every device your family has approved for kid sign-in, with when each was last used. Remove one you no longer have and it stops working immediately. To add a child’s own phone without signing in on it yourself, use set up a child’s own device.

Leaving, logging out and deleting

Three different things, at the bottom of the screen:

• Log out signs you out on this phone. Nothing else changes, and everything is still there when you sign back in.
• Leave this family removes you from this household — the right choice for a shared house you have moved out of. Your account survives and you can be re-invited.
• Delete my account & data removes you and your personal data for good. It cannot be undone; deleting your account says exactly what goes and what stays.
