Add a child
Give a child a profile in Equal House — no account, no email, no password — so they can pick up chores and earn pocket money.

Children in Equal House do not have accounts. There is no email address, no password and nothing for them to remember beyond a picture code. Their profile belongs to the household, and grown-ups control it.
Add them
- More → Your account → Add a family member.
- Enter their name and tap Child.
- Set their date of birth, then tap Add member.
Both the name and the date of birth are required for a child. The date of birth is not cosmetic and it is not there for birthday cards: Equal House uses it to work out the child’s age band as they are added — 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, 13–15, 16–17 — and that band is what decides how much of the household’s work is expected of them, and which chores are offered to them at all. It is why a seven-year-old is never measured against a fifteen-year-old.
What they can do
Once a child exists you can assign them tasks like anyone else. They appear in the fairness picture at a share appropriate to their age, and they can earn pocket money for the chores they finish.
To let them see their own list on a device, set up Kid Mode.
Photos and PINs
A photo helps younger children find themselves on the sign-in screen. If you would rather they could not tap into each other’s profiles, give each child a PIN.
Removing a child
Open them from the family list and make them inactive. Their history stays, so past weeks still add up correctly — the fairness numbers for last month do not silently change because someone left this month.
