Set up Kid Mode
Give a child their own view of Equal House — their chores, their stars, their pocket money — with nothing of the grown-ups' in it.

Kid Mode is a separate, restricted view. A child signed into it sees their own jobs and progress, and none of the household’s calendar, money or private notes.
Before you start
Add the child as a family member first — see add a child — and give them a few tasks, or the screen will be empty.
Turning it on
- More → Kid mode.
- Check the family’s picture code, which is what they sign in with.
- Hand them the device, or set up their own device.
What a child can do
- See the chores that belong to them, today and this week
- Tick them off, earning stars, streaks and pocket money
- See their routines
- See what they have earned, in your household’s currency
What they cannot do
They cannot see the family calendar, the household’s money, other people’s tasks, documents, or anything in Safe Space. Kid Mode is not the grown-up app with bits hidden — it is a different screen.
Approving completions
A grown-up confirms what a child has ticked off before it counts. That is what stops “done” being a matter of opinion at bedtime.
Getting out
Kid Mode does not release the device on its own. Signing out returns to the grown-up app, which will ask for whoever’s account it is.
