What stays on your device

Journal entries never leave the device you wrote them on. They are not uploaded, not synced, and not visible to anyone else in your household.

What is stored for the household

Your tasks, calendar, members, meal plans, documents and money records — because a shared household plan does not work if it only exists on one phone.

Children

Children have no accounts, no email addresses and no passwords. Their profile belongs to your household and is controlled by the adults in it. They sign in with a picture code on a device you have approved — see how children sign in.

Usage data and crash reports

More → Settings → Share usage data is one switch over both of the technical reports Equal House can send to Google:

• Usage data — which screens get opened, which features get used, and counts of things like tasks completed. Never names, titles, notes or anything you typed.
• Crash reports — when the app breaks, the technical details of the failure, plus your device model, operating system version, language, how much memory was free, and the screen you were on.

Both are on when you install the app. Turn the switch off and nothing is sent. When a child signs in to Kid Mode, reporting is switched off for their session.
