Keep a private journal
A place to write down how you are actually doing, stored on your device and shared with nobody.
Where to find it
More → Wellbeing → My journal
The journal is deliberately the least shared thing in Equal House.
- More → Wellbeing → My journal.
- Write an entry.
It stays on your device
Journal entries are not uploaded, not synced and not visible to anyone else in your household — including the household owner. They live on the device you wrote them on.
That has a consequence worth knowing: if you lose the phone, or reinstall the app, they are gone. There is no copy on a server to restore, because there is no copy on a server.
Why it works that way
An app that measures how fairly a household is split has no business also holding the diary of somebody unhappy with the answer. Making it device-only is the only version of this feature that is honestly private.
What it is for
Noticing patterns. Weeks are hard to remember accurately, especially bad ones, and the difference between “everything is awful” and “Thursdays are awful” is a thing you can act on.
