My Boundaries
Tell the other grown-ups what you'd like respected, and set quiet hours when nobody hands you a job.
Where to find it
More → My Boundaries
From version 1.16.0 of the app — if you can't see it, update the app.
My Boundaries is where a grown-up writes down what they’d like the family to respect, in their own words, and sets the hours when they don’t want to be handed a job.
- More → My Boundaries.
- Under In my own words, type a line and tap +, or tap one of the ready-made ones, such as “Please don’t talk about our family with people outside the house”.
- Under Quiet hours, tap The last two hours of my day and say when your day ends, or Other hours to choose the days and times yourself.
- Tap Save.
You can also set them during Set up with Bric.
Who sees them
The other grown-ups at home can see your boundaries, under The other grown-ups on the same screen. Children never see them, and they can’t be read from a child’s board.
Each grown-up sets their own. Nobody, not even the account owner, can set or change someone else’s.
What quiet hours do
A job is in your quiet hours when it’s due inside them. A job due at 8pm is done before quiet hours that start at 8pm, so it isn’t counted.
- Auto-Balance and A fairer week ahead don’t give you a job due in your quiet hours while someone else could take it. If everyone is in their quiet hours, the job still goes to someone.
- When someone reassigns a job to you and it’s due in your quiet hours, they see that under your name before they choose.
Quiet hours can run past midnight, such as 9pm to 7am.
What Bric does
Bric reads your boundaries when a grown-up is talking to him, and keeps to them in what he suggests and how he talks about people. When a child is talking to him, he knows grown-ups have boundaries but not what they are, and he won’t guess.
