Add a place to an event or a party
Put an address on a calendar event or a party, drop a pin on the map, and open it in your phone's directions app.
Where to find it
Calendar tab → Add event → Location (optional)
Most things on the calendar happen somewhere. Adding the place means whoever is going does not have to ask which leisure centre, or look the address up themselves.
- Open or create the event. On the Calendar tab, tap Add event, or tap an event to edit it.
- Under Where, type the place into Location (optional), adding a town or postcode if it is a common name.
- Tap Find on map. The address is looked up and a small map shows the pin.
- Save.
With a pin, opening the event shows the map with a Directions button under it, which opens your phone’s maps app. Without one, the address is kept as plain words and there is no map. Changing the words takes the pin off until you tap Update pin.
Parties
The party planner has the same Where card for the venue. With a pin, the party page offers Directions, which is usually the thing the driver needs.
One week somewhere else
A repeating event can be somewhere different for one week. Open that day’s event, choose Just this one, and change the place. The rest of the series stays where it was.
Tasks
New tasks do not have a place any more. A task made before that change keeps its address, and still offers directions from its summary when you open it. For a job that happens somewhere, such as collecting a prescription, say where in its How to do it note — see add a task.
