Ingredients

  • 500 g firm tofu, cut into 3 cm cubes
  • 3 tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 fresh red chillies
  • 300 ml vegetable oil for frying

  3. 3

Stir in the kecap manis and 3 tablespoons water and simmer for 2 minutes until syrupy.

  4. 4

Return the tofu to the pan and toss gently to coat.

  5. 5

    Serve with steamed rice.
