Keema Samosa Bake with Chilli Sauce

55 min Serves 4 ~£8.20 (£2.05/serving) Kid-friendly

Ingredients

  • 400 g minced beef
  • 270 g filo pastry
  • 150 g frozen peas
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 3 clove garlic cloves
  • 15 g fresh ginger
  • 50 g butter
  • 4 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 onion

Method

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan. Finely dice the onion and fry in a little butter for 5 minutes. Add crushed garlic and grated ginger and cook for 1 minute.

  2. 2

Add minced beef and cook over high heat, breaking it up, for 8 minutes until browned. Stir in garam masala, cumin, frozen peas and salt. Cook for 2 more minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

  3. 3

Melt remaining butter. Layer half the filo sheets in a greased baking dish (about 20x30cm), brushing each layer with melted butter.

  4. 4

Spread the keema filling evenly over the filo base, then layer remaining filo sheets on top, brushing each with butter. Score the top layer into portions with a sharp knife.

  5. 5

Bake for 20–25 minutes until the pastry is deeply golden and crisp.

  6. 6

Serve cut into portions with chilli sauce drizzled over or on the side.
