Ingredients

  • 600 g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 20 g fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 spring onions
  • 320 g jasmine rice
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Method

    Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, crushed garlic and grated ginger in a bowl to make the marinade.

    Add the thinly sliced beef, toss to coat well and leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

    Cook the jasmine rice according to packet instructions.

    Heat a large frying pan or griddle over a high heat until very hot. Cook the beef in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until caramelised at the edges.

    Slice the spring onions and scatter over the beef. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over the steamed rice.
