Pork Mince Baozi-Style Steamed Bun Filling

Ingredients

  • 400 g pork mince
  • 8 ready-made soft rolls
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 spring onions
  • 2 clove garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Method

    Crush the garlic and thinly slice the spring onions.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork mince and fry for 6–8 minutes until browned.

    Add the garlic and five-spice and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil and toss well.

    Remove from the heat and stir through most of the spring onions.

  5. 5

    Warm the rolls, split them open and fill generously with the pork mince. Scatter with the remaining spring onions and serve.
